When did you first start getting into music?

I’ve always been musical! I couldn’t speak a word until after age 4, but as a toddler, I’d always bang on the piano keys at home. I loved participating in pre-k music groups – in my own way, and then, I started music therapy. By the time I turned eight years old, I was singing, playing piano, dancing, and acting after school with FAR, a non-profit therapeutic arts organization. Later, twelve-year-old-me wanted to make records like Taylor Swift, so my supportive parents made sure I continued with piano and vocal lessons. Fast forward through many steps along the way to today, and my first original song has been released on all streaming platforms! Wow!!

What is the inspiration behind your song?

I wrote “Make Kindness Reality” asking society to be kinder and more inclusive to people with autism and other special needs. I’m a very social person, and during my school years, I was always trying to break through barriers, fit in, and find my crowd. It’s not great for someone’s self-esteem to always be working hard just for acceptance. This is why my first released song focuses on kids being excluded and bullied just because they are different; I feel this behavior needs to be replaced with kindness.

What are your future hopes/dreams for your music trajectory?

I want to continue learning and growing as a musician/performer through instruction, practice, and performing. Many of the songs I write are about my experiences, and I can’t wait to share more songs with everyone. Music is a great way to convey stories, messages, and feelings. My dream is for my work to resonate with a large audience, instill hope, and inspire others to overcome challenges.

What is the one thing you want people to know about living with autism?

Living with autism can be tough, but dreams are reachable! Individuals with autism face unique challenges at various levels; that’s why it’s called a spectrum disorder. For me, having autism requires that I work extra hard to focus, complete tasks, and attain my goals. I’m so lucky to have incredible support from my family, and the Flutie Foundation has been unbelievable in assisting me musically and personally! I am grateful for my life that’s full of amazing possibilities; I really believe there are no limits to what people with autism can achieve!
