As we approach Thanksgiving and think about gathering at the table with our families, it is only fitting that we we take this opportunity to thank the family that started it all – The Flutie family. The Doug Flutie Jr. Foundation for Autism wouldn’t exist and certainly wouldn’t have as many successes under its belt if it weren’t for the tireless commitment and passion of theirs. In 1998 Doug and Laurie realized how fortunate they were to have the resources to provide Doug Jr. with educational opportunities, special equipment and the tools necessary to live a happy and rewarding life. It was then that the DFJF was born to help other families of children with autism who struggle every day to pay for similar services. Since then, millions of dollars has been raised for families living with autism. Thank you Flutie family for inspiring us everyday to keep up the good work you started 19 years ago and haven’t stopped working for ever since. Thank you also to our incredible donors, volunteers and sponsors that have provided the support this year to assist over 10,000 families with loved ones on the spectrum live their best possible lives.
